MARY ELIZABETH JORDAN GOODWIN, affectionately known as Lizzie was born November 28, 1937, in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Henrietta Hawkins and Samuel Jordan. After a lengthy illness, the Lord in his infinite wisdom called her home on December 19, 2015 from Mercy Medical Center.

Lizzie married the late James Goodwin on December 4, 1954. From that union two children were born.

She received her education in the Baltimore City Public School System. Lizzie worked several jobs including caretaker; babysitting, for the family and anyone who needed childcare. She was a hair stylist, a baker, and cook. She loved to entertain. You could always come to her house and there was something on the stove or in the oven. Lizzie loved her family. She had a way of telling you what was on her mind.

Lizzie's Christian journey started at an early age in the St. Pius Roman Catholic Church and later at St. Bernadine RCC. Her final witness and work concluded at the Trinity Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Dr. William Calhoun, Sr. She loved her Lord and her Pastor. Part of her joy was to play her favorite Gospel music "Rough Side of the Mountain" and "Jesus Will Work Out".

Lizzie leaves to cherish her memory: her son, James Goodwin, Sr.; her daughter, Darlene Goodwin Brown; one brother, William Jordan; one sister, Rosetta Jordan; and sister-in-law, Violetta Jones; four grandchildren Nakida Haggins (Darren), Shemirra House Massie (Damon), James Goodwin, Jr. (Melvina), Sh- Wan House Clark (Robert); nine great grandchildren, one who proceeded her in
death Devon Massie; and a host of nieces, nephews, God Children and other family and friends.
