Mary Little, was born on January the 15th, 1930 to the late Gladys Little and Lizzie Mae Covington Little of Candor, North Carolina. Mary was one of nine children six of who preceded her in deathrfour sisters, Evelyn Pemberton, Ann Greene, Katherine Harris and Wilena Moore, also two brothers, George Little and Leon Little. Mary departed this earthly life and transitioned into her eternal life on Saturday, December 27th,2014. Upon completing her education in Candor, NC, Mary relocated to Brooklyn, NY in 1950 where she met her lifelong companion Nathan Oliver Sr. who also preceded her in death. '( That union was blessed with one child, Nathan Oliver. Mary began her career in 1973 as a nurse's assistant at Cobble Hill Nursing Home devoting her heart and patience to caring for others. She retired in 1994 after completing 21 years at Cobble Hill. Aunt Mary was considered "The Walking Truth" because she was so direct and candid. Although her tongue was sharp, her heart and soul was humble, her spirit free, her love genuine and unconditional and her words were full of wisdom. She was full of laughter, the life of any party, she always had a comeback, a joke, a riddle, a cliche, whichever it was, it was the truth. She was loved by many and respected by all, one of a kind in every sense imaginable. She will be missed and forever remem- bered by all of us. We can hear her voice "Old lady doing ok now". We love you Aunt Mary. Mary leaves to cherish her memory, her only son, Nathan Oliver of Brooklyn, NY; four grandchildren, Quasiah Little of Petersburg VA, Brionna Little, Niasiah Little and Trumian Little of Baltimore MD; one brother, Accie Little of Dayton OH, one sister, Celestine Reddick of Rockingham, NC and a host of nieces, nephews and close friends; all of too many to name.
