Ms. Mary Elizabeth Chance-McMillian, the daughter of the late Willie Chance, Sr. and Aggie Chance, was born May 6, 1957 in Denmark, South Carolina. She departed this life after a lengthy illnes on Thursday, October 6, 2011 at 6:30 am at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, MD. Mary was educated in Baltimore City Public Schools. She graduated from Paul Laurence Dunbar High in 1976 were she received an award for "the most talkative person in class" She started her work at MCI and later assumed position of administrative assistance at George Washington University. Mary and Larry John McMillian Jr. were married March 28, 1978. From this union two sons were born Larry McMillian II and Julius Dominic McMillians. Mary joined New Home Baptist Church on May 7, 2008 and receuved the right hand of fellowship on August 3, 2008. She was an active member of the Greeters ministry until she became too ill to perform her duties. Mary was a loving and caring person. she always put her family above all things, and during times of need she was their with helping hands. Her personality was vivacious. She was passionate about life and was adament about making a grand entrance and looking good. To her friends she was known as "Foxy Mary" and DIVA. Mary was preceded in death by her husband Larry John McMillian Jr. She leaves to mourn her two sons: Larry John McMilian II of Baltimore, MD and Julius Dominic McMillian Janee of Wahiawa, Hawaii. Six grandchildren Janiyha, Julius Jr. Kemper, Lamiyah, Julius Jr., Kemper, Lamiyah, Larry Jr. Jayla. Three brothers Willie Charlene, Alfonzo Diane, and Sylvester Joyce Chance. One uncle George Holmes Ada and one aunt Gergia Clark Willie all of Baltimore, MD. one devoted friend and godmother of her children Terry Oliver of Norfolk, VA., nieces newphews and a host of other relatives and friends.
