Obituary

Mary Louise Pulliam, daughter of the late Charles and Lizzy Haris, was born on August 17, 1927 in Warren, Virginia. She was called home to be with our Lord and Savior on March 31, 2007 after a lengthy illness. The transition was one that she prepared for throughout her entire life. Marywas baptized at an early age. She continued to lean the everlasting arms of God. She reveived her education in the Virginia Public Schools. Her love and support for others went far beyond the benefits of a formal education. She was gifted to do God's will. During her healthier years, she was a devoted long time member of the Orchard Street Baptist Church in Baltimore, and her work went beyond the church. Mary was fondly known by her extended family members as ''Dollie'' or ''Aunt Dallie''. This title of endearment was an expression of love which was held in high regards for her kindred spirit. After coming to Maryland, she met her beloved William Frank Pulliam, who proceded her in death. They were untied in marriage for more than twenty years. From this union they shared a wonderful daughter, Patricia Ann. As a hard and didicated worker she sought work at the Archer's Laundry. Her work ethics and commitment were recognized. She became the daytime supervisor for more than thirty years. After retirement, her life was just changing directions. She knew that her work was not done. Because of the desire to make a difference, she became a beacon of light in the lives of children. She became a child care provider for overthirty years. Regardless of what the circumstances were , she gave that unconditional love that only a loving mother could give. The have known her is a blessing! The impaact of her love was her legacy. Whether you were financially challenged, hungry, temporarily homeless, special needs or in any unimaginable situation, she was there for to see ''How can I help?''. Mary's disposition was a joy to encounter. A dim room would suddenly become well lit with her smile and caring demeaor. Mom, Grandma, Aunt Dallie and MAma were all names referred to one who would answer you call. Her favorite phrase was ''I'm out here and don't bit more care!'' It was rather funny to hear her say these words because that's all she did do, ws to care! She would say, ''If I can help somebody then my living would not be in vain.'' She leaves to cherish her memory: a loving daughter, Patricia; three grandchildren, Robin Carter, Antoin Milhous George and Sabrina Colbert; great-grandson, Leroy McDuffie III; grandson,Leroy McDuffie III
