Mary Caldwell (Thomas), was born as a twin and 3rd of ten children to Lillian and George Caldwell, both of whom welcomed her into heaven. She grew up in South Baltimore where she attended Harvey Johnson High School before moving to the Freetown Community of Anne Arundel County in September of 1948. Mary attended Wiley H. Bates High School then received her nursing degree from Crownsville State Hospital where she worked as a LPN3 for 33 years. Mary was joined in holy matrimony on February 14, 1951, to the late John H. Thomas Sr. Together they raised sons, Don R. Thomas, Dwight N. Thomas, John H. Thomas Jr. (Sandra), and daughter Natosha M. Thomas. A lifelong member of Church of the Living God, Mary received Christ under the leadership of Bishop E.M. Jennings as a young adult. She served faithfully as Armor-Bearer, Chairman of the Deacon Board, Usher and Senior Deacon. She also sang on the choir, served on the kitchen committee, worked in the food pantry and was a member of the praise team. Mary was a board member for the Freetown Community Association and membership chairperson. Her hobbies were sewing, cooking shopping and being with her family. Mary is survived by her four children and daughter-in-law; her twin sister, Martha and siblings |George Jr., Lillie, Walter, Orrington and Estella; Goddaughter, Sheila Bushrod; 8 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
