Obituary

Mary E Wallace was born in Randallstown,

Maryland on July 3, 1921. The daughter of the

late Ellen G. Fairfax Wallace and Allen

Thompson. After a brief stay in Future Care

Irvington Nursing Home, Mary quietly entered the

realms of eternal peace on November 15, 2019 at

2:05 a.m.



Mary was educated in the Baltimore City Public Schools and graduated

from Douglas High School in 1941. She worked as a Catalog Call

Center Representative for Montgomery Ward's Department Store.

After



retiring from Montgomery Ward's Department Store, she became a

Substitute Teacher for the Baltimore City School System.



She met and married the late Leon Frank Wallace and from this union

two daughters were born, Leona and Ellen. Leona and Ellen preceded

her in death.



In 1958, she joined john Wesley United Methodist Church in Balti-

more, Maryland where she was a faithful member until her health be-

gan to fail. She was a member of the Wesleyites Senior Ministry,

Comfort Choir, Bereavement Ministry, Mass Choir, United Methodist

Women, member of the Mother Board and other ministries. She

loved her church. She was always asked to sing at funerals even

though she didn't know the person, she would always say she was sing-

ing for the Lord. Mary enjoy her life. She became a Foster Mother to

Shirley Butts Hawes, Queenie Butts and Catherine Thompson who

also proceeded her in death, She dearly loved her family, her church

and especially her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great

grandchildren,



Mary was known as Mammie or Aunt Mammie, Everyone in the

neighborhood looked to her as a Mom and Friend. After the passing

of Mia, Aunt Mammie became Lorrie's confidant as Lorrie grieved the

loss of her daughter Mia.



She was known for her lemon mirague pies, pig feet and POt-ito salad.



Mary also was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for over 50

years, she was past matron [rom 1975-1976, Eureka Chapter # 11,

Zerrubbabel Court No 1, and Queen Ester Assembly No.1 Order



of the Golden Circle. -



Mary leaves to rejoice and cherish her memory, loving and devoted

grandchildren: Gail, Vernon (Skippy), Shelly(Daniel), Linda(Emmauel),

Leonard(Keonna) and Troy, great grand-children: Aarika, Krys tal ,

Courtney, Vernesha, Stephen, Shajuan, Monica.joshua, Taylor, An-

toino, Antwan, Lucas, Emmitt, La'nya, Leon, Laeonna, Lyric, and

Leonard j r, great-great grandchildren Ta'myra, Dante', Davon, Aakira,

Riley, Courtez, Zoey, Dallas, Carter, nieces Beatrice Thomas Ward and

Mary Brown, Cousin Austin Breckenridge and host of nephews, nieces,
