Mary L. Yates daughter of the late Horace and Sophie (Brown) Alston was born July u, 1932 in North Carolina
Mary departed this life and entered eternal rest on June 13, 2024.
Mary was educated in the Baltimore City Public School System and graduated. After high school, Mary pursued
her education in nursing and received her certificate.
Mary gave herself to the Lord Jesus Christ at and early age.
Her dedication led her to serve in several churches until
she found a home at United Brethren for Christ Church of the Living God.
Mary was proceeded in death by her father Horace Alston; Mother Sophie (Brown) Alston, three brothers, Isayah
Alston, Joseph Alston, and John Alston; two sisters, Nancy Ricks and Betsy Clemons. She leaves to cherish her memory, daughter: Stella Myles, one sister, Etheline Ferbee, five grandchildren; Rhonda Taylor (Rodney),
Edward Myles Jr. (Shawnetta), Lawrence Myles, Antoinette Halford (Michael), and Keith Myles Sr. (Dinesha); eighteen great grandchildren, twenty-two great great grandchildren. one great great great grandchild, and a host of nieces,
nephews, cousins, and friends.
