Mattie A. O'Neil-Pierson, daughter of the late Richard and Sarah O'Neil, was born on January 10, 1954 in Baltimore, Maryland. She departed this life peacefully after a lengthy illness on February 11, 2014. Mattie received her education in the Baltimore City Public School System. Mattie held down numerous jobs, but her last employment was with Temple University in Philadelphia, PA where she was loved by all the workers and students. Mattie always had a smile and was always ready to help anyone whenever she could. Mattie was a person who loved life and always made you feel good. Mattie could not speak after her stroke, but there were three names she would never forget: Corey, Bobby, and Betty (Fussy) that was her way of calling them. Mattie was the' best grandmother ever. She loved all her grand's, and whenever time permitted, she'd spend quality time with each one of them. Mattie accepted Christ at an early age, and later rededicated her life back to Christ. She joined the Spirit of Faith Deliverance Church, under Pastor Steven Jones. She was a faithful member until she moved to Philadelphia, but still she continued her loyalty to her church. While a resident of Philadelphia, she joined the congregation of the Greater Faith Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor Nicholson. Mattie made numerous friends wherever she went and her presence and humor will truly be missed. Her memories will be cherished by her husband, Robert (Bobby); her loving and faithful children: Abdullah Kareem (Corey, Asha, and Ieisha (Fussy); three sisters, Jeanette, Brenda, and Charlene all of Baltimore, Maryland; two brothers, Richard (Dickey)(Sarah), and Adrian O'Neil; four sisters-in-law, four brothers-in-law; ten grandchildren; Mustafa, (Isaiah, preceded her in death); Malik, Chanel, Moona, Courtney, Tarria, Ismail, Surayyah, and Ibraheem; two great grandchildren, Aaniyah, and Malaya. Mattie had a special relationship with Mustafa and Moona that they will forever remember. She will also remain in the hearts of many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Viewing Joseph H.
