Maurice LeodisBoone,Jr.was born on November16, 1959 to Betty S. Boone-Capehart and MauriceL.Boone Sr, at Lutheran HospitalinBaltimore, Maryland. Hewas called to eternal rest, Friday, May8, 2020 atSinai Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. He was affectionately known to all of his familyandfriends as "Reesie."



Atayoung age,Reesie's mother insisted thatheand his sister,Tammie,attend Sundayschool every week atSt.Mark's United MethodistChurch withneighborhood friends.As anadult, Reesie married Janet Crews,and together they joinedNew Creation Christian ChurchinBaltimore,Maryland. Later, he joinedNew Psalmist Baptist ChurchinBaltimore,Maryland.



Maurice waseducated in the Baltimore City and County Publicschoolsystems. Hegraduated from WoodlawnSr.High School,inthe classof1977,with his sidekick/cousin/best friend Michael Boone. Afterhighschool,Reesie movedtoLong Island, New York with familyand attendedSuffolk County Community College in Selden, New York.When he returnedtoBaltimore, Reesie set outtofollow in his grandfatherandfather'sfootstepsandworked inthefamily business. He continued hisentrepreneurialpassionsworkingfor Prestige Home Mortgageand CenterlineConstrμctioncompany.Hemanaged contracts for many hospitalsand the HousingAuthority of Baltimore City.



Reesiehad a great spirit for helping people. He would give you the clothes off hisbackandthe last dollar inhis pocket. He had a sensitivespot for assistingthe elderly, especially his dear neighbor, Mrs. Merritt.Even with hisfailinghealth,hewasalwaystheretoprovideanextra pair ofhands for her care. Asa young boy, Maurice was blessedtobe a Ball-Boyfor the BaltimoreBullets. Thispropagated hislove for sports.Hecould sit forhours and watch the news and sporting events on TV especially basketball and nephew's football games. He knew allof the players and believed he could have coached any professional team. Someof his other favorite pastimes were attending concerts, dining out, and going to casinos.He was known in the neighborhood for sitting on the front porch and greeting everyone who walked by. Reesie had a largerthan life personality and a super kind heart. He lit up any room he walked into, andpeople were happy to be in his presence. He will definitely be missed bymany.



Reesie was preceded in death by his father Maurice Sr,Grandparents,George and Lena Boone, and Bernard and Geneva Smith.



He leaves to cherish his memory: his beloved mother, Betty Boone-Capehart; sisters - Tammie Cottomand Quiera Keil; brother - Kyle Boone; brothers-in-law - Richard Cottom and Martin Keil; children - Christopher, Rachel, Chantell, Cheldon and Cameron; grandchildren -Alicia, Christian, Stephen, Chelsea, Madelyn, Alona, Connor, and Carter; nephews - Camden Boone and Brandon Cottom; niece: Brooke Cottom; a devoted cousin Alfred Boone; aunts, uncles, and a hostofcousins, other family members, and close friends.
