Obituary

Maurice Wilbert Henry was born on January 25, 1949 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Joseph Geter and Irma Elizabeth Henry. Three sisters preceded him to heaven: Nan Hope, Joanne Henry and Sheila Campbell. He went from labor to reward on December7, 2006 after a 4-month illness. ''Reese'' was educated in the Baltimore City Public School System. He mastered several trades, including upholstery and carpentry. He loved to work with his hands. He was a moan that loved the Lord. In 1994, he was baptized at First Apostolic Church. At the time before his illness, he was attending Sharon Ministries located at Lanvale Towers. In 1988, he married Jacqueline Rogers and began a friendship that lasted until he took his last breath. ''Reese'' loved his family especially his daughter, grandchildren, brothers and sisters. It was because of his patience with and love for his daughter that she was able to graduate from high school and eventually get three college degrees. He enjoyed watching westerns, completing crossword puzzles, listening to music and eating fish every Friday. His family and friends got a kick out of calling him ''slow''. His memory will be cherished by all who knew him. He fought a long and good fight and the Lord rewarded him by opening his merciful arms. He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife of 18 years, Jacqueline Rogers; one daughter, Dr. Tracey Durant; one son-in-law, Bruce Durant Jr; one granddaughter, Cheyenne Asia Durant; ; one grandson, Bruce Durant III; four sisters: Gloria Henry, Aretta Tyler, Mimi Henry and Joyce Battle; three brothers: Joseph, Reginald and Milton Henry; two brothers-in-law: Reginald Hope and Pastor Kevin Battle; three sisters-in-law: Ethel, Annette and Katrina Henry; three aunts: Sedral West, June Jones and Pastor Eula Frazier; one uncle, William Owens; a host of nieces , nephews, relatives and friends.
