Marvis Williams, daughter of the late Charles and Florence Gill, was born on October 9, 1932 in E1 Socorro, Trinidad and Tobago, West Indies. She departed this world on December 4, 2017 in Baltimore, MD after living a full and prosperous life.
She was educated in the Trinidadian School System. After finishing school, she gained employment as a seamstress working at the K Shirt Factory in San Juan, Trinidad. She worked as a seamstress for many years but when she immigrated to the United States in 1970, she worked as a housekeeper. She would go on to become a CNA I GNA and worked at Manor Care in Towson, MD. She had a very strong work ethic and often worked multiple jobs until
she retired. -
Mavis had 5 beautiful children with her beloved husband Joseph. She was a very active and healthy woman throughout her life. She found joy in gardening, exercising, and sewing. She loved to travel the world with her family and friends. Mavis was the life of the party wherever she was. She loved her family and worked hard to ensure they had the best opportunities possible.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband Joseph Williams and son Sherwin Williams.
She leaves to mourn: children, Winston, Arlene (Alphonse), Hazel and Stanley; daughter in law, Barbara Williams; grandchildren, Tracey (Ronnie), Keishia (Allen), Jamal, Cory, Yussef, Akida, Andre (Dania), Khali1ah, Katrina, Alphonse, Christopher and Brianna and a host of great grandchil- dren, nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends here in America as well as oversees. Mavis found companionship in her caregivers Maritu and Helen Baptiste as well as her special friends Marva Johnson, Cynthia Lucas, and Hassan Thomas. She made friends wherever she went and will be sincerely missed by everyone.
