Maxine Elizabeth Grant daughter of the late Beatrice and Fred Wise was born on September 28, 1941, in Baltimore, Maryland. She suddenly departed this life on Sunday, February 26, 2016. Maxine received her education in the Baltimore City Public School System. She attended Morning Star Baptist Church and was introduced to Christ at an early age. She was a very outgoing person. She enjoyed the cabaret scene, going to the movies with her kids. she loved to shop and travel - especially to North Carolina for the mince barbeque. She was a strong, loving mother, a wonderful wife, and a true friend. God strengthened her in a way that she could carry the weight of the world and no one would ever know what she was going through. She worked as a merchandise expeditor for Commerce Distributors for many year until her early retirement. It was at Commerce where she met the man she would spend the rest of her life with. When people say opposites attract, they must have had these two in mind. On February 12, 1993, they married and have been inseparable; where you see one; the other was only two steps behind. As a husband, John was many things to her, but most of all, he loved and pampered her. She leaves to cherish in her memories; and exceptionally devoted husband, John Grant; one son preceding in death, Raymond Wise; two sons, Michael Juliette Wise, and Wesley Ernestine Wise; two daughters, Crystal Darnell Butler, and Cassandra Wise; one sister, Sylvia Henry; one brother, Fred Wise; 12 grandchildren, Crystal, Destiny, Latoya, Jacques, Brandon, Laravia, Michelle, Byron, Dawon, Jasmine, Christopher, and Saucia; sour stepchildren, Irma Felder Willie, Cynthia, Bartee Eddie, Colethar Powell Denneth, and Terry; one brother-in-law, Arthur Grant Leomie; great-grands; a very special friend Bernice Brooks; and a host of relatives and friends.
