IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Maxine
Miles-Bosworth
September 14, 1935 – December 27, 2020
The sun rose on Maxine Ruth Carter on September 14, 1935. She was God's gift to Walter & Olivia Carter. Maxine peacefully departed this life on December 27th, 2020 to enter into her heavenly home.
Maxine was raised in Baltimore, MD and she received her education in the Baltimore City Public Schools.
Maxine married Elmer Miles and together they raised their four children. Later in life she married Crispus Bosworth.
Maxine landed her dream job with Baltimore's Department of Social Services. She later moved on to the Maryland Board of Physicians as an Executive Secretary. Before retiring, she was promoted to a Licensure Analyst. She took much pride in her work.
It was a proud day when Maxine joined Pentecost Baptist Church, along with her family. Little did she know her life would miraculously change, as she was later called to evangelize and licensed to preach under Pastors Charles Fletcher & Samuel Fletcher. She was honored to be under their leadership. She loved singing in the choir and she had a great passion for teaching children in Sunday School. Maxine was later called to continue her mighty work in ministry with Morning Star Baptist Church under the leadership of Bishop Dr. Dwayne C. Debnam. She loved going to the nursing homes singing and praising God with the seasoned saints.
Maxine also belonged to a prison ministry under Gospel Tabernacle. She was a firm believer that ministry must go beyond the walls of the church. She truly had a passion for ministering God's word to the lost and found. Maxine had a giving heart—it put a smile on her face to help someone. She always knew God would provide.
Maxine loved to travel. She traveled the world near and far, including islands in the Caribbean and Hawaii, to name a few. Her most memorable trip was to the Holy Land. She also enjoyed going to Spiritual conventions domestically.
Maxine was an exceptional daughter, sister, auntie, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, and great-grandmother. With her fighting spirit, she was a protector of all of her family. She made many special friends throughout her life.
Evangelist Maxine Bosworth was preceded in death by husband Crispus Bosworth; ex-husband Elmer Miles; brothers Gerard Carter & Raymond Carter(Joan); sisters Delores Jackson & Zelda Franklin(Frank); son Brian Miles(Romaine); and son-in-law Daryl Mosby(Janice).
She leaves to celebrate brother Melvin Carter(Gloria); loving and caring daughters, Janice Mosby(Daryl) & Karen Gross(Frank); son Andre Miles; daughter-in-law Romaine Miles(Brian); grandchildren Rashid Mosby, Sr., Shanay Miles, Tameka Gross, Aliya Mosby Carillo, Danielle Byrd(Kevin), Ajee Miles, Omar Miles, & Imani Miles; great-grandchildren Rashid Mosby, Jr., Kevin Byrd,Jr., & Amari Chisholm; and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, and friends.
