IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Maxine Delores
Witherspoon
January 30, 1938 – April 8, 2024
Maxine Delores Witherspoon (known by many as Jean) daughter of the late Catherine and William Johnson, was born on January 30th 1938. She departed this life on April 8th 2024.
Maxine attended schools in Baltimore City. She was a hard working woman where she dedicated years to jobs such as Misty Harbor, the Orioles Stadium, JC Penny, Giant etc. She received many awards and accolades. One being from WJZ News. Maxine was a very loving, supportive, intelligent, nurturing, outspoken, fun, adventurous, courageous, deter mined, feisty, strong, helpful and compassionate human being. She would do anything and everything for anyone who needed it. These traits that she had shown explains why she was such a great mother, grandmother, aunt, foster parent and friend. She was a great adviser.
One of Maxine's favorite things to do was traveling. She also enjoyed going to casinos, doing crossword puzzles, reading, cooking, watching TV, going to the beach and enjoying good company. She loved a good cup of Maxwell House coffee. There is one quote she would always say when you asked her how she's doing. She would say "I'm at peace with the world". She loved to sit around and reminisce because every body always had good memories. If you were to ask her right now she would say "I lived a good life".
She was preceded in death by her son Michael, her daughter Annette, her brothers Robert and Hayes and a sister Bertha (Arelia); her aunt Marlene (Cookie); her grandson Avon and a great grandson Donald (Dee) and her best friend more like a sister Deloris.
She is survived by her children: Richard and Andrew; her siblings William, Alano, Bernice, Marie and Maria; her grandchildren Nakia, Asia, Mykah, Jewel, Racquel, Keara, Kristen, DeAngelo, Xavier, Tariq and a host of great grand children, nieces, nephews, cousins, family and long time friends. She will be missed by many and forgotten by none.
