Obituary

Mae Fullmore, affectionately known as "Nuchie," passed away peacefully on August 31, 2025, at the age of 72. She was surrounded by family and friends. Born on February 18, 1953, in Baltimore, Maryland, as Maydell Lyles, she was the daughter of the late Ernestine and Lewis Lyles. Mae received her formal education through the Baltimore City Public School system, graduating from Edmondson High School in 1971. She continued her education after high school, earning her Printing Press Operation Certification and Microsoft Office Training Certification.

For many years, Mae worked various jobs before becoming a dedicated overnight employee at Schmidt Baking Company, where she worked tirelessly to support her family. After retiring, she continued her role as the ultimate caregiver and teacher, becoming a motherly figure to everyone she met. To her older grandchildren, she was "Mommy," and to the younger ones, she was "Grand-ma" or "Pretty Girl."

Mae had a unique talent for making every birthday and holiday feel special. Her love was expressed in countless ways, from sending heartfelt messages to decorating her home inside and out. Her home was a place of endless warmth. At Christmas, she made sure every family member received a gift, She was also a trusted sounding board and a source of wisdom for anyone who needed advice.

You could always find Mae doing a large jigsaw puzzle with her family or enjoying a nice hot cup of tea. She also passed down a unique and endearing family trait: a love of mayonnaise.

Mae was a woman of immense strength and unwavering love. In 1971, she married her beloved husband, Larry James Fullmore, who preceded her in death. Together, they were blessed with twelve children.

She is survived by her devoted children: Brenae, Sheena, Ernessa, Tia, Katana, Larry, Joseph, Desiraye, Jacquetta, Jamal, Justin, and Mason. She is also survived by her siblings, Lois, Lewis, Gary (Lucy), and LaRaye; her grandchildren, Maron, Megan, Octavia, Paris, Ashten, Nick, Elijah, Cabriel, Jamal, Joey, Josiah, Miciyah, Deamonte, Masey, and Naomi; and her great-grandchildren, Brayden, Sariah, Amiyah, and Pagie. Mae is also survived by her sons-in-law, Chike, Baye, and Isaac, along with a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends, including her lifelong friend, Garrison. Melissa, Alex, and Randolph were also like her own children and were loved deeply. Her legacy of love and compassion will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know her. She was, without a doubt, the greatest mother of all.
