IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Melvin Brunson
Jr.
July 27, 1988 – March 21, 2024
Melvin Brunson, Jr., the son of Yolonda,. Coates and Melvin Brunson, Sr. was born in Mercy Hospital on July 27, 1988, and completed his journey of life on March 21, 2024. Melvin received his education in Baltimore Public Schools, earning his high school diploma. He worked from age 14 to 34 when he became ill. Melvin was a participant in many programs of recreation and skills development, always trying to improve himself.
Melvin, Jr. was affectionately known by family and friends as Little Melvin. He was very loving, kind, forgiving and generous. On Saturdays, his favorite thing to do, which he loved, was to travel in the early morning hours, embracing the day with his adventures to the mall. He treated himself to gifts and enjoyed his favorite food, "Taco Bell". Little Melvin loved to watch a good movie on his 70in TVs.
Little Melvin found his place in God! For the last two years, he was faithful in his attendance at church service on Sundays. He had a new-found zeal for God. He witnessed to others about the goodness of Jesus. Often stated without shame, how much he loved God and how much God meant to him.
Little Melvin was a family person! He was the one that called and checked on all the family members whose numbers he had in his possession. He loved to spend quality time with his family. Little Melvin will be missed by all who knew him. They will miss the phone calls and visits; however, family and friends can find comfort and peace by knowing that to be absent from the body means to be present with the Lord. For this reason we praise God in honor of his life, his love for God and the assurance that he is with God. We are so glad that Little Melvin found the Lord who was with him always. It is so sweet to trust in Jesus and Little Melvin put all of his trust in the Lord.
Little Melvin's journey home will lead him to greener pastures of those that proceeded him in death. His grandparents, Lorriane Johnson, Dorothy Rankins, Bobby Brunson, and Danny Lee Coates; great-grand- parents, Betty Hill, Hattie and Horace Cann; Aunt, Robin Shields and uncles, Williiam Kevin Johnson and Cordell Thompson.
Sharing in this lost, but cherishing his memory is his mother, Yolonda Coates, Father, Melvin Brunson, Sr.; three sisters, Mariesha, Rykendra, and Ameria; one brother, Kendrick (Keosha); six aunts, Tina (Tron), Sharon (Warren), and DeAdrian, Ruth Ann , Kim and Debbie; two uncles, Anthony and John Anthony; Grandfather, Arthur Rankins; Godmother, Zaleema, Patricia whom he honored as a mother, two nephews, four nieces, his special cousin Tiffany who he hung out with, his cousin Precious who he confided in, a host of other relatives, friends, coworkers, medical professionals and associates.
We all loved Melvin, but God loved him best!
