Obituary

MELVIN MOORE was born to the late Ernestine and Melvin Moore on January l st, 1947 in Baltimore Maryland. He was educated in the Baltimore City Public School System and graduated from Carver High School. He later entered the Marine Corps and served in Vietnam and was promoted to Sergeant. Melvin married Nellie Young on May 8th, 1971 and was blessed with two children, Troy and Tredina and was also blessed with his son Melvin Moore Jr. Melvin and Nellie were inseparable; if you saw Melvin, you saw Nellie. After returning from Vietnam, Melvin worked for General Electric. After General Electric relocated, Melvin had a vision, became an entrepreneur and opened his own pet store in Westside Shopping Center. During a lengthy illness, Melvin dedicated his time to his grandchildren, and they all called him "Pop Pop." He was a fighter during his illness and the Lord gave him strength to bounce back. Melvin loved the Lord and was a standup husband and father. Melvin joined Jones Tabernacle Baptist Church in 2007. Melvin enjoyed the outdoors. He loved crabbing, fishing and enjoyed the hits of the sixties and seventies. He also enjoyed traveling to Delaware and West Virginia casinos. Melvin also loved to eat and always had his hand in s~meone's pot. One night Melvin heard a whisper and was told "Well Done" and was called Home to be with the Lord. Melvin leaves to mourn his passing and cherish his memory: his devoted wife, Nellie Moore; his two sons, Melvin Moore [r, Troy Moore and his daughter Tredina Moore along with seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; his brother, Michael; his sister, Marsha; his stepmother, Mary Moore; five sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-laws: his godson, Elijah Stanley; a host of other family members and friends.
