Obituary

Melvin G. Pearson, was born on June 30, 1938 in Kippers, Virginia to parents, the late Mary and John R. Pearson. He was one of nine children and the last surviving son, prior to his passing. On May 19, 2012, god called His child home to rest after a lengthy illness. He received his education from Diamond Grove Elementary School in his native Skippers, Virginia and joined Diamond Grove Baptist Church at an early age where he attended faithfully. Melvin moved to Baltimore, Maryland in the late 1950's, where he found employment at The University of Maryland Hospital and there he worked until his retirement. He was also a licensed barber and was known to love sitting outdoors in the summer, where he appreciated relaxing and listening to good music. Now, in his homegoing, Melvin joins six sibling who preceded him in death, Beulah L. Williams, Mable b. Carpenter, Levonia Fowlkes, Melvin;s twin brother, Lawrence Pearson, James R. Pearson and Robert Pearson. He leaves to mourn and cherish his memory; three daughters, Patrica Mosley, Sharon Pearson and Yvette butler; three sons, Melvin G. Pearson, Jr., Keith Pearson and Kelvin Miles; one son-in-law, Homer Mosley; eight grandchildren; two sisters; Alice E. Smith and Marjorie M. Webb of Washington, DC.; niece, Shirley Robinson of Skippers, VA; in addition to a host of other nieces, nephews, family and friends.
