Obituary

Melvin Jerome Shaw, son of Mallie and Mary Shaw, was born on November 19, 2008 at Bayview Medical Center. Melvin received his education in the Baltimore City Public School System. He was a long-term employee of W.F. Wilson Construction Company. Melvin, a.k.a,"Uncle Bennie,"was extremely family-oriented, mild-mannered, fun loving, and comedic. Melvin enjoyed playing cards, chess, and spending time with his family. Melvin was a true and dedicated fan of the Baltimore Ravens and an admirer of President-Elect Barack Obama. To add, this was Melvin's first time he ever voted. Preceding Melvin in his untimely demise;2sisters: Mary Shaw-Holley and Caroline Capers,1brother:Brian Shaw, and grandmother:Louise Coles. Melin leaves to cherish his memory: both parents, Mallie and Mary Shaw,4daughters: Donnetta, Portia, Caprice, and Elantra;3sons: Melvin Jr., Dillon, and Brian; 1son-in-law, Troy Roberts,2grandchildren: Diamond Walker and Travis Laws,6sisters: Mary, Michelle, Marsha, Sheila and Tracy,5brothers: Elijah, Mallie, Jr., Michael, Donald, DeShaw,3sisters-in-laws: Patricia, Kisha, Ferdine Shaw,6brother-in laws: Larry Barnes, John Weems, William Holley, Vincent Edwards, Teddy Harper, and Tony Gregory,3uncles: William Coles, Thomas Coles, and Douglas Shaw,7aunts: Mattie, Barbara, Pam, Louistine, Vanessa, Gwyndolyn, and Donna,46nieces and nephews, 73 great nieces and nephews, and a dear companion; Karen Pailin, a best friend: Anthony Williams, and a host of other relatives and friends.
