Melvin Shields, son of Alvera Elizabeth White-Shields and
Lonnie Shields was born on December 24, 1958. He was called
home to be with his Lord and Savior on May 26,2018.

Melvin aka Mel also known as Stash accepted Christ at an early age.
He received his education in the Baltimore City Public School System.

Melvin met Sharon and out of their union they had two children,
Sharon Shenae Shields and Lance De' Andre Shields.

Melvin worked over 10 years at John Hopkins Hospital Bayview
Dietary and he was also a commercial/residential painter. If you
asked him for anything he was always willing to lend a helping
hand. Melvin always had a pleasant smile. He loved his family,
especially his grandchildren. He would cook, play games and
care for them as a granddad would. Being in his presence
was a joy. Melvin was a quiet yet shy type of guy who you
would find on any day listening to his favorite R&B songs.

Melvin leaves to celebrate his life: one daughter, Sharon Shields
and son-in-law, Lloyd; one son, Lance Shields and daughter-in-law,
Shalonda; 7 grandchildren, 2 brothers preceded him in death,
Sammy and Lawrence Shields; four sisters, Alvera Stokes-John,
Dorothy Banks, Thelma Shields and Celestine Parker; brother
Tyrone Shields, 1 aunt Mable Mckee Pittman and a host of other
relatives and friends.
