Merle Marvin Bailey was the son of the late Lillian Mae Bailey and the late Marvin Bailey. He was born in Baltimore, Maryland and lived all of his life in West Baltimore. Uncle Merle as he was fondly referred to, departed this life on December 11, 2008. Merle attended Baltimore City Public Schools. He worked as a Gardener for many years, until he became three and could no longer work. He joined and attended "Candle Light Baptist Church". Merle had a Passion for music, good food and Pepsi cola. He had and adundance of love to give. He would tell sstories of the Old Royal Therater and all of the artists, that he saw perform there in his younger days. You could always depend on his big smile no matter what. Left to cherish his memory is his devoted and loving sister Geraldine Powel who devoted her life to his care who devoted her life to his care, a special niece and nephew Jean A. Young and Michael Hall; and a host of nieces, newphews, cousins, and close relatives. He also had good friends; such as Willie Lemon, Joe Leach and Marian Wright.
