Michael Anthony Battle, Sr. son of the late Bloss Battle, Jr. and Dorothy Lee Battle, was born on October 18, 1959 in Kinston NC. departed this life on November 28th, after battling a lengthy illness. He received his education in Baltimore City Public Schools, He often worked as a laborer - doing maintenance and contruction work. He also spent some time as a security guard. Known to family and friends as "Mike" he will be remembered as an avid traveler. He spent his younger days in Washinton, D.C., Philaelphia, PA, and parts of North Carolina and Virginia. Mike enjoyed life to the fullest. He partied hard- loved music, movies and dancing. He also enjoyed hanging with family and friends. He was a caring man and loved his family. He will sincerely be missed. He was preceded in death by his brothers - Bod Dixon and Bloss Battle III and sister, Linda Battle. He leaves to mourn: his son- Michael Battle, Jr.; four grandchildren - Michael Battle III, Mikell Battle, Daylynn Battle, and Destiny Morning; five sisters Florence Dixon VA, Chrisstine Dixon NC, Carrie Williams NC, Pearl and Rita Battle MD; one brother - Douglas Battle MD, a sister-in-law, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends. And two very devoted friends - Betty and Faye.
