MICHAEL HUGHES, son of the late Aubrey and Elizabeth Hughes, was born on June 7, 1947 in Baltimore, Maryland. He suddenly departed this life on Friday, August 16, 2013. Michael has been reunited with his sister, Yvonne and brother, Larry Hughes. Michael attended the Baltimore City Public School System, Baltimore City Community College, Sojourner Douglas College and Roxbury Community College in Massachusettes. Earlier this year in May, Michael received his Associate of Arts Degree. Over thirty years ago events altered Michael's life, but he never gave up on living. Michael's mind was never idle, he was always learning, reading, listening, writing and talking. Michael's passion was for the homeless. Working as a counselor at Pine Street Inn and Victory Programs Inc. in Massachusettes, and Project Plase in Baltimore, Maryland. Michael's. plans were to return to Baltimore to be near the two people he loved more than anything, his son and grandson. After a short visit to Baltimore on August 6th until August 13th, Michael returned to;his home in Dorchester, Massachusettes. There he became gravely ill arid passed away. All of us who were able to see and spend time with him during his visit had no idea that it would be the last time. Michael leaves to cherish his memory: son, Damany Michael Hughes, grandson, Damany D.
