Mildred Francis was born on August 13, 1946 in
Smithfield, Virginia to Mattie Mae Tyler and Robert McNeal.
She was the oldest of five children. She departed this life on
July 21, 2018.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mattie
and Robert, husband Matt Francis, Jr., son Matt Francis, III,
and niece Bettina Tyler.
Mildred accepted Christ as her Savior. She loved
serving the Lord and serving in the church. Her favorite hymn
was "Precious Lord Take My Hand".
Mildred was educated in the Isle of Wight Training
School in Isle of Wight County, VA. Upon moving to
Baltimore, Maryland, she continued her education in the
Baltimore City Public School System.
Mildred was well known for her cheerful volunteering
including serving on several ministries in the church, cooking
and serving others in their time of need, and lending a helpful
hand in the raising and upbringing of many children. She loved
spending time with family and friends. Mildred was known for
hearty conversation and enjoyed reading, completing crossword
puzzles, and watching Family Feud & soap operas.
On May 13,2018, Mildred was ordained as the Mother
of New Kingdom Faith Christian Church.
Mildred is survived by her two children Linda Robinson
and Richard Tyler; five grandchildren Shaneka Parham (Devon),
Juwanna Jones, A vontez Tyler, DeAndre Lewis and Arykah Tyler;
one great- grandson Jacolby Parham; one uncle Fleetwood Tyler
(Helen) of Portsmouth, VA; two brothers Carter Tyler of Suffolk,
VA and Lawrence Tyler (Patricia); two sisters Evelyn Kellam-Bey
(Anthony) and Joann Robinson; six nephews Lawrence Tyler, Jr.,
Kenneth Tyler, Brian Tyler, Derrick Holmes (Keishia) of Smithfield,
VA, Ramone Pierce (Karshena) of Suffolk, VA, and Adam Pierce
(Keshunia) Chesapeake, VA; two nieces Lynnette Tyler and
Dontier Dunlap; and a host of other relatives and friends.
