IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mildred L.
Wilson
May 8, 1934 – September 11, 2017
Mildred Lee Wilson
83/ affectionately known as Ma, Ma-Ma, Gran-
ny, Grandma, Mil Girl, and Millie departed this life after a lengthy illness.
Mildred was born in Cambridge, Maryland on May 8, 1934 to Norman
Wilson and Hagar Virginia Dyson.
Mildred received her education in Cambridge, Maryland and then decided
to move to Baltimore, Maryland taking her two sons, Frederick (Freddie)
and Gary with her.
While in Baltimore, Mildred met and married John Frances Wilson (who
preceded her in death) and from that union three more children were born,
John Frances Wilson, Jr., Tammie Lee Wilson (both who preceded her in
death) and Darlene Lee Wilson.
Mildred had taken on many jobs helping and caring for others and then as
a stay home mom. Mildred loved playing cards. If someone wanted to
"pluck" the table was ready. Mildred loved to cook and was known for her
famous homemade potato salad. You would always find somebody's child
in her home that she would be caring for while the parents would work or
just needed some time to themselves. Mildred was a Counselor and a
Comedian in her own right. Many, many times the neighborhood children
would come to her for advice or a laugh. One of her sayings would be,
"Hear what I'm saying. I'm telling you."
Mildred leaves to cherish her memories: three children, Frederick Julius
Matthews (Carolyn), Gary Leroy Matthews, Sr. (Diane) and Darlene Lee
Wilson; eight grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and a host of
nieces, nephews, relatives, loved ones and friends.
