Obituary

MINNIE LEE CARTER, beloved daughter of the late James and Katie Butler, was born on March 4, 1923 in Greenwood, South Carolina. She departed this life on May 23, 2013 after a courageous battle. She received her education in South Carolina, but she left school at a early age to help her mother take care of her sisters and family. She had numerous employment skills and held different jobs. Some of which included working as a short order cook, seamstress, nurses aide and domestic housekeeper for private homes. She always helped the needy, and shared part of whatever she had. She opened her doors to the homeless and gave them a clean, warm, and safe place to lay their heads. She was a kind and loving woman that always lent an ear or a helping hand to anyone who needed a friend. She leaves to mourn: one sister, Jimmie Lee; three children, Stella, Lucille and Betty; four grandchildren, Pernell, Marcia, Antawan and Adam; and one son-in-law, two great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. She will be greatly missed. Viewing Joseph H. Brown Jr. Funeral Home Thursday, May 30, 2013 03:00 PM - 08:00 PM Email Details 2140 N Fulton Ave
