IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Minnie G.
Chambers
October 13, 1943 – November 23, 2018
On Friday, November 23,2018, God received a special beautiful blue flower
from our family garden, Minnie Geraldine Chambers. Born on October 13,
1943 in Caswell County, North Carolina, she was sixth of nine children born
to the late William Milton Chambers and Mary Essie Crawley Chambers.
Minnie departed this life after a long illness.
, At an early age the family moved to Baltimore Maryland. Minnie was
educated at Sollers Point Junior Senior High School in Turner Station
Maryland. Afterwards she held several jobs in the banking industry. She
attended church with her mother and sister on a regular basis. She was also
a member of the Manna Bible Baptist Church in Baltimore City. Minnie
enjoyed listening to God's word, socializing with her family, dancing and
singing. Minnie would frequently travel to North Carolina to attend family
reunions and other special occasions. She enjoyed baseball and watched
the Baltimore Orioles play all the time during baseball season. Minnie was
ecstatic to witness the first African American President.
Minnie was a care giver and did not hesitate to assist her family with caring
for her nieces and nephews. In fact, after her sister Barbara passed, she
lived with her nephew, Tony for fifteen years and developed a loving
mother/son relationship. Minnie also assisted her relatives with cleaning
decoration, painting, sewing and cooking. She was a fashionista who made
many of her own eye-catching outfits. Minnie was immaculate with her style.
