Minnie Bell Johnson, daughter of the late Otha Harris and Dessie Frederick was born
on August4, 1938 in Lillington, North Carolina. she departed this life on Wednesday,
February 2,2022 at home peacefully in her sleep after a lengthy illness, surrounded
by loved ones.
She received her education in Lillington, North Carolina at Shawtown High School
She later moved to Baltimore, Maryland in 1966 and found employment at C and p
telephone Company and other various forms of employment. She took great pride in
raising her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and children of the Mckean
Avenue/Sandtown Neighborhood that she called her very own. She loved life and
sacrificed to help her family and friends in any way she could.
Minnie was a devoted matriarch of a five generation family. She brought sunshine,
laughter, morals, and values to all she knew and loved. Minnie was well respected and
loved by all she came in contact with. She would always give an encouraging word,
a shoulder to lean on, a listening ear, and even a tear. "Our Queen.,. You will ALWAYS be"
You are free, you are free. Well done, well done, well done Mommy. You will be, truly
missed.
Minnie leaves to cherish her everlasting memories to: her daughters: Betty Cherry,
Bernice Rice (Willard Rice), Teresa Williams (Tomas Lemon), Brenda McLean. Her sons;
Charles McLean Sr. (Darlene McLean), Henry McLean Sr. Joanne McLean) Arvetra Johnson.
Five Siblings: Ed Frederick, Robert Lee Frederick, Henry Frederick, Pearline Mitchell,
Mary Frederick. Three sons who proceeded in death; Neil Ray, George McLean, and
Albert Lee McLean Sr. Ten siblings proceeded her in death: Josephine Smith,
Mary Chance, Evamae McDougald, Mildred McLean, Adele Frederick, Collie Ray,
Alexander Ray, Charlie Frederick Sr., Wesley Frederick, Willie Frederick, and a host of
grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great-grandchildren, nieces, great-nieces, nephews, great-nephews, other relatives and friends.
