Monroe Amos Spicer-Elliott, 87, died Saturday, February 22, 2014 at Courtland Gardens in Randallstown, Maryland. He was born on June 5, 1926 in Crapo, Maryland. Monroe was the son of the late Lucy Elliott and Roland Spicer. Monroe attended public schools in Dorchester County. He was a graduated of Dunbar High School in Baltimore, Maryland. After graduation he enlisted in the Navy and served from 1944 to 1947. After serving time in the Navy, Monroe was employed by Bethleham Steel until he retired. Monroe was a member of Metropolitan United Methodist Church where he was on the Usher board. He enjoyed bowling and hunting with friends. Monroe met and fell in love with Florence Barrett. The two were married for fifty-two years. He was a devoted husband and father. His wife Florence preceded him in death. He leaves to cherish fond memories: his brother, Morris Elliott and Beluah; sons, Orris and Eugene (Florence); brother-in-law, Sherman Berry; extended family of brothers and sisters, Ruben (Elizabeth), Erma (Donald), Romona (Elwood), Albanus (Dorothy), Rommie, Ber- tie (Alfred), Elva (Dorsey), Ruth who proceeded him in death and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
