Obituary

Nannie Lee clements, daughter of the late Jessie and Minnie Jones, was born on March 2, 1928 in Amelia County, Virginia. Nannie departed her life on October 24, 2008, after an aggressive bout with cancer, in the midst of tranportation to the nursing rehabilitation facility. Nannie accepted Christ in her life at an early age. Nannie joined and was baptized at the Bethia Baptist Church in Amelia, Va. In her later years Nannie attended Amelia County Public Schools for her early education. Upon arriving in Baltimore, Md she worked in the textile industry and spent many years working for the Superior factory. In 1947 Nannie met and later married the ever so handsome Lynn Clements in 1953, who loved and adored her. Nannie and Lynn shared an enjoyable life, well into their "Golden Years." The both of them enjoyed togather sitting on the stoop, doing crossword puzzles, laughing, talking and reminiscing of the past. Nannie was a fun loving and caring woman. Nannie exhibited maternal skills to the neighbors' kids and devoted many years nuturing Deanna and Daniel. Nannie had a very energetic perspective on life, "Happy Go Lucky." Nannie enjoyed a high style for fashion and hats. She enjoyed bowling, dancing, and taking trips to Midway Casinos with her famous fried chicken wings on the bus. Nannie leaves to cherish her memory; her devoted husband of fifty-five years, Lynn; two grandchildren, Corey and Jarmon Haskins; three great-grandchildren, Deosse, Shacoia and Jayden Haskins Richmond, Virginia; two nieces, Gloria Hurd Baltimore, Maryland and Dorothy Jones Richmond, Virginia; great niece/nephew, Cynaisha and Cyprian Hurd Baltimore, Maryland; seven sisters-in-law, Queen Reed, Christine White, Matilda Clements and Katherine Chestnut Richmond, Virginia and Elizabeth Mitchell, Gladys Clements Amelia, Virginia and Evelyn Tyler White Plains, New York; also six brothers-in-law, Alaska Clements Washington, D.C., Charlie Clements Alexander, Virginia, William Clements Amelia, Virginia, Julius Tyler White Plains, New York, William Squires and robert Reed Richmond, Virginia; also to cherish her memory two special nieces, Angela Reed-Bordley and Blanch Wade Baltimore, Maryland; a beloved family friend, Ms. Enrica Pittman; and a host of relatives and friends. Nannie was preceded in death in death by two sisters, Marria Ward Baltimre, Maryland, Hattie Jones Chesterfield, Virginia and two brothers Robert Holcomb Buffalo, New York and Dewey Jones Richmond, Virginia.
