Obituary

Narvis Renee Bruce, was born on October 4, 1955 to the late Ralph and Dorothy Bruce. She was a beautiful bundle of joy and a great blessing to them. Her dad referred to her as his princess. Narvis was the only child. She was extremely outgoing, friendly, generous, and sincere. Narvis and her mother had a wonderful relationship. After school, she would assist her mother, who was a librarian, at the main branch of the Enoch Pratt Library. After the death of her parents, Aunt Louise, Uncle David, and Aunt Jeanette became her parental support system. Christ became important to Narvis at an early age. She was baptized at the Union Baptist Church in Baltimore, Maryland. Because of her faith in God, and strong family foundation, Narvis was able to persevere through many obstacles during her adult life. She attended The Church of Saint Mary, the Virgin in Baltimore, Maryland with her aunts and uncle. Narvis had a special love for her family and a very close relationship with her cousin, Rodney Smith. While growing up, they spent a lot of time together. They were the only children of two sisters. Narvis was able to live on her own in an assisted living home, under the care of David and Latasha Cox. There, she experienced the care of an extended family, who sincerely loved and supported her. They provided many experiences which enhanced Narvis' life. Narvis leaves to cherish her memory: two uncles, Donald Bruce and David Bruce; four aunts, Margaret Smith, Jeanette Bruce, Pauline Bruce and Rose Bruce; cousins, and a host of friends at Prayer Changes Everything.
