IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Nathaniel D.
Bond
November 19, 1948 – March 9, 2017
NATHANIEL DOUGLASS BOND, SR.,
beloved son of Nathaniel Stanley
Bond and Ann Rebecca Bond whom preceded him in death was born on
November 19, 1948 in Baltimore, Maryland. He departed this life on March
9, 2017. He was the second oldest of four children.
Nathaniel, better known as "Douglass" or "Doug", was educated in the
Baltimore Public School System. Douglass used his talents as a people person
at Sinai Hospital working in various positions over many years, until his
retirement. He also used those people skills to try to teach anyone walking
past him how to play chess. He volunteered for many years as a youth
baseball and football coach and was the pioneer of youth football team in
Lucille Park.
Douglass will be remembered for his unending love for his son, always
bragging about his son's accomplishments as a football coach especially
his son's picture with his Northwestern High School football team that is
posted at the Reisterstown Road Applebee's. He really looked forward to
his time with his devoted companion, Bernadette Maxine Kearns, when
they would enjoy many movies, meals, shop and conversations together.
Douglass was so proud of his grandson Donta, being a straight A scholarship
student of North Carolina A& T University. He also enjoyed watching
the many talents of his grandson Little Nate especially football and acting.
His granddaughter Annyce was also known as his personal nurse and he
cherished those memories. He was always entertained by his granddaughter
[aylen's magnetic outspoken personality and he looked at Ayden as the
future Ray Lewis.
His cool, calm and confident personality will be what his family and friends
remember the most about him, not to mention that infectious smile.
He leaves to mourn: his son, Nathaniel Douglass Bond, Jr.; long time
devoted companion and best friend, Bernadette Maxine Kearns; two sisters,
Barbara Ann Grimes and Janet Elaine Hart (brother-in-law Phillip Shephard
Hart); brother, James Andrew Bond (sister-in-law Gertrude Bond); his
grandchildren, Donta, Nathaniel, Annyce, [aylen and Ayden; his nephews
and nieces, James, Judson, Laticha, Dietrus, Kelly, Charles and Kenyeta; a
devoted sister-in-life, Valerie Kearns and a brother-in-life, Charles Lucas, [r.;
his best friends, Tyrone Brown, Sr. and Rashi Pinkney, Sr. along with a host
of cousins and friends.
