Nathaniel Bernard Hicks, was born on April 13, 1937 in Baltimore, Maryland. He departed this life on AprilS, 2015. Nathaniel was the son of the late Avon Levy and Laura Hicks. Nathaniel affectionately known as "Popa". He was preceded in death by his siblings, Calvin, Geraldine, Shirley and Normie. Nathaniel was educated in the Baltimore Public School System. At an early age he worked to assist his mother in the care of his sisters and brothers. He worked for a number of years at Rogers Printing Company. He was later employed at McCormick's Spice Company. He was a lifelong Catholic. He married the former Frances Better and out of this union a son, Brian was born. Nathaniel was a fun loving person who enjoyed making others laugh. He was devoted to his son and his two daughters. He will be sincerely missed by his many friends. He leaves to cherish his memory: his son, Brian M. Hicks; two daughters, Jhona and Jhonnette Ireland; one brother, Roland Hicks; one daughter-in-law, Cotrice Hicks; two granddaughters, Cheraya Garnett and Breyonna Hicks; two grand- son, Jonathan and Johlan Ireland; step-granddaughters, Siara Bazemore and Lashae' Chase; step-grandson, Kevin Chase; devoted friends, Dot and Sue; lifelong friends, Stanley Pratt and Montiseldon Hunter, Sr. and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
