Obituary

Desacon Nathaniel Parker, son of Larraine White and the late Clarence Parker, was born on February 21, 1958 in Maryland. He departed this glorious life on September 25, 2011. Nathaniel in his early years spent much time living with his grandfather, Victor Howard and his grandmother, Lil. He attended Harmans Elementary School and later continued his education at Southern High School where he graduated. In an effort to continue his education, Nathaniel decided to join the Job Corps. Meanwhile, the Job Corps was a cutting edge opportunity towards Nathaniel's position of Longshoreman. He was a man who was never satisfied with the mundane and always looked for better opportunities that led him to be employed with a plumbing company located on Pennsylvania Avenue for many years. He gradually found a new interest and began working for the Hyatt Regency Hotel, located in downtown Baltimore, Maryland where he loved going to work with his late son Nathaniel Parker Jr., also known as "Spanky." Nathaniel loved to make people smile, so he sought out to find someone who shared his sentiments. Jean Smith Parker, his lovely wife of several years, also preceded him in death. After the death of his son and wife, Nathaniel overcame the wiles of the enemy by devoting his life to serving the Lord at Haven of Rest Sanctuary of Praise under the leadership of Pastor Dena Jobes. Moving to another dimension in Christ, Nathaniel decided to jion Pastor Douglas Cornish at Greater Victory & Deliverance where he became a Deacon and met many friends. He later moved to Harvest Time World Ministries under the leadship of his brother-in-law Paster Anthony H. Jackson. Nathaniel;s favorite song was "I've got to clean up, what I messed up, and start my life over again." He loved to sing this song so much that it inspired him to try and live a life that was pleasing in God's eyes. Nathaniel leaves rejoicing in his memory; his mother, Lorraine White; two sisters, Evelyn C. Jackson and Lena Parker; three brothers, Clarence, Trenton and Joe Parker; brother-in-law, Anthony H. Jackson; five aunts, Viola Brown, Hazle Johnso, Virginia Coates, Elizabeth Dorsey and Lucille Jones; and uncle, Joseph Parker; six nieces, Victoria, Cherese, Trena, Tarsha, Monique and Keta; two great-nieces, Koneal and Trinty; nephews, Victor, and Blake; two great-nephews, Victor Jr. and Christian; two special cousins, Elaine and Wayne Holland; two very God-loving friends, Gregory and Susanne Golphin; and a host of other relatives and friends.
