Obituary

Nettie Lee Harris Bracy, daughter of the late Willard and Magnolia Harris, was born on AprilS, 1933 in Weldon, NC. She departed this life on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 after a brief illness. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Arthur and Jimmy Harris and grandsons, Darrius and James Sykes.

She received her education in the Weldon Public School System in Weldon, North Carolina.

She was united in holy matrimony to the late Collie Eugene Bracy and God blessed this union with six children. Upon their relocation to Baltimore, she worked at Levindale Nursing Home.

Nettie Lee was a faithful member of St. Paul Institutional Baptist Church where she served on the Flower Circle and Usher Board. "Ma," as she was affectionately called, enjoyed playing cards, traveling the world, and spending quality time with her family and friends. She had numerous friends and adopted children that adored her. Whenever anyone was traveling and needed a 'co-pilot,' all they had to do was give Ma a call, and she would meet you at the door with her luggage. She was also the best GPS anyone could ever purchase, for she would get you wherever you needed to go.

Those left to cherish the memory of Ma's love are her devoted children, Ellen Gaither, Maria Bracy (Tony), Connie Bracy, Deborah Jones, and Timothy Bracy of Baltimore and Annetta Foster (Randy) of Pennsylvania; grand-children, Keith, Denita, Nneka, Shawn, Shawnta, Danielle, Kenneth, Shatia, Monique, Monet, Antione (Shalicia), Kevin and Brittany; 18 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren; God-children Tiffany, Lisa, Linda, Shirnette, and Dawn; siblings, Bessie Arrington, Alfonzo Harris, Geraldine Sneed, Elder Clarence Harris (Charman), Carol Thomas, Joyce Harris, Vanessa Newell, and Judith Bryant, all of Weldon, NC; uncles, Bishop William Cheek Sr. (Lucille) of Tillery, NC and Arthur Cheek (Liz) of Washington, DC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
