Nollie Lee Robinson was born on March 29, 1942 to the late Ivory and Mary Robinson. Her father, brothers and sister called her "Sister." She went home to be with the Lord after a lengthy illness on September 16, 2012. Through it all, she never complained and smiled all the time. Nollie grew up in Baltimore city and was educated in the Baltimore City Public School System. She married the late Larry J. Coates, Sr. in 1970 and from this union they were blessed one daughter, Yolanda Cherrie Coates. Landa was the love of her life; she doted on her, and later her two granddaughters, Nastassia and Sade'. She loved her family and the Lord. She attended the Empowerment Temple Church. Nollie lived her life according to the philosophy, "If I can help someone along the way, I will," and she did. She loved helping, even when she became weak, she would try to do for herself and others. She was a giver and a great caretaker. She leaves to cherish her memory; her daughter, Yolanda C. Coates; tow granddaughters, Nasstassis Eubanks and Sade' Sands; one brother, Allen Gholson Sandra; one and sister, Larry and Eva Robinson preceded her in death; three brothers-in-law, five sisters-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Kia Rogers, who was like a daughter to her; and special friends, Beverly Brown, Jeanette Scott, Joy Smith and Melvin Stokes.
