IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Norma Patricia
Bowman
November 19, 1949 – March 31, 2022
Norma Patricia Bowman was born Norma Patricia Byrd to the late
Bernice Byrd and Francis Logan on November 19, 1949. She was the
youngest of her two male siblings William Byrd and Robert Byrd. Norma
departed this earthly life on Wednesday, March 30, 2022.
She received Yeshua as her Lord and Savior many years ago and used to
attend evening services at St. Jude Shrine in Baltimore, MD.
Norma received her education at Eastern High School in Baltimore City
and then went on to earn her welding certification from Airco Technical
Institute in the mid 1980's. Though gifted in her respected trade, her
love for helping others led to her working for the United Way of Central
Maryland's Information and Referral Offices as first an operator and
then eventually on to a public and reoccurring television spokesperson
for over 20 years. After leaving the United Way she went on to work for
Johns Hopkins Hospital up until her final retirement in early 2005.
Norma leaves behind: sons, Lohnny Thomas Mitz, late son, Jamahl
Kevin Bowman whom she missed dearly; Gearie Clayborne Henderson
Bowman and nephew, Raymond Byrd, whom she raised as her own.
She also leaves behind grandchildren: Brittany Bowman, Moniqua Mitz,
Domenick Bowman, Jiehe Bowman, Jayda Bowman, Marques Diggs,
Summer Jones, Samone Jones, Shawna Harris, and Lamont Cox Sr.;
great grandchildren include Mykah Mills, Lamont Cox Jr. and Amara Zoe
Chideziri Ibeanu; daughters-in-law include Yvette Jones, Tanika Bowman
and Renee Mitz; ex-husband Gearie C. Bowman survives her and a host
of beloved cousins and close friends including Ms. Nora, Sisters-in-laws,
Clarice, Shirley and Ann. Though her late cousin Tootsie and close friends
Ms. Gloria and Ms. Cookie may have left this world before her; she
remembered and honored their memories up until her last day on earth.
