Norman M. Whittington, son of the late Norman Chester Whittington and Selena Par- sons Whitherspoon, was born on July 19, 1942 in Harve de grace, MD. He departed his life on June 29, 2014 after a lengthy illness. He received his education at Harve de grace Consolidated High in 1960. In addition he attended Coppin State University, where he studied Social Sciences. He is a Veteran of The United States Army. Later, He married Lillian Whittington and with that union bore a son Norman M. Whittington Jr. He moved to Baltimore, MD and worked for the Baltimore Sun Paper. Later, he remarried the late Jennifer H. Whittington in 1984 and has been widowed ever since. Next, decided to change directions and went to Oklahoma for training for Insurance with Mutual of Omaha. He sold insurance for a few years then embarked on another career with ARA where he found his true niche in life. During this process, he met a man that came up with a crazy idea to start a business to do virtually the same thing he learned from ARA. He agreed with his wife and this lead to the formation of a company known as CCES or Capitol Care. Like all small startups - money and business was extremely tight, but with persistence, sheer determination and a belief in himself -- lead to his first contract and before all was said and done over the course of the next several years, he had over 150 employees and several contracts within MD, DC, V A, and P A. He later began to deal in real estate and opened up a bar/lounge called Norm's place in Baltimore. Norm loved making deals, brainstorming ideas and developing a plan. He was known for taking a simple idea and making it work some kind of a way. His best attribute was simply an entrepreneur and instilled the idea in countless people that encountered him. Norman made friends wherever he went and tried to help folks that wanted to help themselves. He showed countless people how to start businesses and most of them are still making it today. If you had what it takes and some real dedication to pursue your dreams, he was the man to call. He is survived by: Norman M. Whittington, Jr, son Natalyn (wife), Brian K. Hitchcock step son, Babbette (wife) sisters Diana Heath, Trivinna Durham, brother Roscoe Durham, Elmira, aunts Victoria Lispy, Betty Rice, and 4 siblings proceeded him in death, Carouso Durham, Marry Walton, Katherine Claycon, Midrid Durham, grand children, Brian Hitchcock, Jr., Brianna J Hitchcock, A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
