October L. Britt, daughter of the late Anna and Richard Banks, was born on October 6, 1940 in Virginia. She departed this life on May 5, 2011 after o lenghty illness. She received her education in Virginia. She had numerous jobs. She attended several churches in Virginia and Baltimore, Maryland. She made sure her children and grandchildren knew the Lord. She grew up in Virginia where she was raised by her late sister Essie Mae Lewis. She was married to the late Johnny Britt. October known as "Lillie Mae" made lots of friends wherever she went and young people call her "Mama." She had a good heart and for anybody who her knew she spoke her mind. She always had an open door to anyone in need. She leaves to mourn four daughters, Lillie Banks, Avis Collins, Angela Banks-Price and Helen Britt; four sons, Johnny Britt, Kenny "Boo" Britt, Freddie Banks and Harold Moore; her son, Carl Evans preceded her in death; two sons-in-law, Cobert Collins and Raymond Price; two daughters-in-law, Tanya Banks and Vanessa Britt; brother, Bobby Shackleford; six sisters, Rubynell, Paige, Catherine, Ernestine, Earnell and Odell; her devoted campanion, James Thomas Yates; thirtyfive grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relative and friends. Also preceding her in death are her brothers, Randy and Piki; and sisters, Annie Lee and Essie Mae.
