On Tuesday, April 22, 2008 Ojetta L. chappelle was called home after a brief illness. Born to the late Wilson and Louella Homles on September 20, 1941 in Cokesbury, S.C., she was the youngest of six children. Ojetta was educated in the Greenwood County Public School System and she also attended Clark College. She ws a member of St. Paul A.M.E. Church until she relocated to Baltimore, Maryland to lve with her daughter, Felicia and her grandson. Ojetta married twice, first to the late Walter A. Anderson, then to Nathaniel Chappelle. Of the first union one child was born and to the second union two children were born. Ojetta, or Jazzy as most knew her, was a fun person that never met a stranger. She could talk to anyone young or old and could relate to any situation put before her. She also had a story to tell at the drop of a hat to anyone that was around and would listen. Ojetta leaves to mourn her passing; three daughters, Felicia Chapelle Luther of the home Baltimore, Maryland, Sonya Spurgeon Gregory of Greenwood, South Carolina and Jemella Hackett of Greenville, South Carolina; seven grandchildren, Michael, Portia and Courtney of the home, Michaela and Gregory Jr. of Greenwood, S.C, Tqwnna of Arlington, Va and Antonio of Greenville,S.C., two sisters, Minnie Arnold of Greenwood, S.C., and Ella Mae Bussey of Greenville, S.C. She leaves a host of nieces, nephews and friends and on adopted sister,Essie Lesane. She will truly be missed by everyone who knew her. She was preceded in death by three siblings, Almeta Brown, Roger Holmes, and Edward Holmes and an adopted grandson Devin Redd.
