Olden E. Barney, son of the late Olden and Helen Barney, was born on November 25, 1920 in Baltimore, Maryland. Olden had two brothers, Elvin Barney and Albert Barney, and one sister, Evelyn Barney. He departed this life on July 7, 2007, after a brief illness. He was educated in the Baltimore City Public School System. At the age of twenty-five, he joined the United States Army. During his tour of duty, Olden was stationed in Koren, where he earned the Bronze and Gold Star medals. He was blessed with three children, Charles Barney deceased, Sheila Barney and Sylvia Barney.
