Mrs. Ora L. Silver, daughter of the late George Washington and Josephine Alston was born November 23, 1927 in Louisburg, North Carolina. She departed this life on August 12, 2015. Ora received her education in Louisburg High School. Ora married John Silver and out of this union five children were born, the late (Mary G. Green), Shirley J. Silver, Willie J. Silver, Patricia A. Byrd and Darlene L. Thomas. Ora did days work for many years, she then started working for Westing House and became a full time em- ployee for 33 years. She attended First Communion Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, George Washington and Josephine Alston; daughter, Mary G. Green; sister, Josephine Solomon and brother, George Alston. Ora leaves to cherish her memory: her children, Shirley J. Silver, Willie J. Silver, Patricia A. Byrd and Darlene L. Thomas; three sisters and one brother, Mary Hayes, Lucy Macon, Catherine Adams and Frank Alston; one sister-in-law, Annie Mae Alston; one daughter-in-law, Earlene Silver; 13 grandchildren, 14 great grandchil- dren, a host of relatives and friends. Ora was a good mother and friend to everyone and will be missed dearly.
