IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Otis M.
Knight
January 13, 1978 – July 7, 2018
Otis Maurice Knight
was born on January 13, 1978 in Baltimore,
Maryland, to Henry Maurice Knight and the late Elizabeth Ann Knight
(Sharpe). He was affectionately known as
"Bean"
by his grandmother and
"Okocci"
by his friends. Otis received his education in the Baltimore City
public school system. He graduated from Carver Center for Art and
Technology in 1997 and later attended The Art Institute of Philadelphia on
an art scholarship.
God blessed Otis to be an entrepreneur and artist at heart. His drawings
and paintings won multiple awards and he sold several of his pieces at
Artscape (an annual event held in Baltimore Maryland). As a successful
events and party coordinator in Baltimore and Washington, DC, Otis
worked with well known performing artist such as Maxwell. Otis also
worked as a Sales and Leasing Consultant with Morgan Properties, LLC.
During most of his life, Otis was raised and cared for by his grandmother
Roberta. They shared a special bond and when you saw her you saw Otis.
He was very attentive to her and was always ready to lend her a hand. He
also had a special bond to his sister Latonya who is also affectionately
known as "Sugar". Otis, also adored his nephews, DJ (with whom he
loved playing basketball), Joshua and his niece, Shayla.
Otis
loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. At family
gatherings you could count on him to help set up and to man the grill. He
enjoyed cooking and eating delicious, nutritious, and culturally diverse
foods.
Otis
was preceded in death by his mother Elizabeth Ann Knight (Sharpe).
Our beloved Otis leaves to cherish his memory, his father Henry Maurice
Knight. He is also remembered with love by his sister, LaTonya "Sugar"
