Owen Davis Jr., son of the late Owen and Ethel Davis Sr. Owen known as

Turel or Uncle Sam was born on September 9, 1949 in Warren County,

North Carolina. He moved to Baltimore, Maryland in the early 60's. He

departed this life on May 14, 2019 after a lengthy illness to join his mom,

dad, two sisters Annie Mae and Claytean known as Tea, seven brothers,

Paul, Sider, Plummer, Richard, Charles, Eddie and James known as Joe and

one son, Owen Davis III.

Turel received his education at Clifton High School and Antioch College.

After college he had multiple jobs until he gained employment at Green-

wood Towing until he retired.

Turel was a devoted husband, brother, father, grandfather, great-grandfa-

ther, uncle and a wonderful friend. Turel enjoyed spending time with his

family and friends. Lying and joking about everything, every chance he got

Turel always left a smile on your face no matter what kind of day you were

having. His nephew Michael from North Carolina named him "Mayor.of

East Baltimore", because he knew everybody. Turel made friends wherever

he went and will be fondly be remembered by family and friends.

Mack his best friend; one brother, Willie; six brothers in-law, James Harris,

Mark Spears, Michael Jefferson, Rodney Spears, Wallace Cozart and

Claude Alston; four sisters-in-law, Barbara Matthews, Ethel Davis, Denise

Foster and Anna Davis; six children, Quameeka, Tara, Latasha, James,

Lakisha and Travis; 16 grandkids, Kyashia, Davon, Jasmine, Wayne,

Morgan, Brittany, Juwan, Shaquille, Joseph, Dorian, Jadah, Ky' Asia,

Jerell, Travis Jr., Autumn and Jada; seven great-grandchildren; close

friends, Michael Edmonds and Cornelius Johnson and a host of nieces,

nephews, other relatives and friends.
