Oziell P. Singleton,
daughter of Robert and Jimmer Carr
was born August
26,
1940 in Magnolia, North Carolina. She
departed this life into the heavenly gates on May
31,
2016.
Oziell moved to Washington D.C
.
at the age of
8
and later to
Baltimore where she graduated from Carver High School
.
After graduating high school she worked as a seamstress at
Max Ruben and later received her certification as a GNA
.
She worked at Seaton Manor and Franklin Court Nursing
Home's where she was a dedicated and loyal employee until
she retired.
Oziell married Isaac Singleton a very devoted and loving
husband of
53
years. Together they raised four children.
Oziell found Christ early in life attending Sunday School,
singing in the Choir, and a Usher board member at Doswell
Temple. Her love of cooking was the highlight of many family
gatherings to celebrate milestones and Holidays. Her spe-
cialties were Sweet Potato and Apple Pie which she loved to
share with her neighbors despite her recent illness.
Oziell loved life and her family
.
She had a unique way of
making people feel especially loved by her. She impacted
many lives with her kind heart and giving spirit. One of her
most memorable and humorous qualities was her strong and
feisty nature.
Left to cherish her precious memory are her devoted hus-
band, Isaac Singleton; three daughters, Shelley, Jacqueline,
and Melissa; one son, Anthony; nine grandchildren, Tiffany,
Clarence, Jeffrey, Kevin, Jacqueline M
.
, Triston, Kiara, Iyia,
I'zayah; one great grandchild, Taylor; four sister's, Laura
Bell Williams of St. Louis, MO, Janice Wooten of Baltimore,
MD, Lonnie Mae Wallace (preceded her in death), Elmo Lee
Boone (preceded her in death); three brothers, Lemuel Carr
of Philadelphia, PA
,
Osbry Carr (preceded her in death),
Elbert Carr (preceded her in death); and a host of nieces,
nephews, cousins, friends and many neighbors all of whom
she loved dearly.
