PATRICIA CROMWELL was born on February 26, 1953 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Charles R. Cromwell Sr. and Charlotte E. Cromwell. "Trease," as she was affectionately known to family and friends, after courageously fighting with her illness slipped away peacefully on February 12, 2025.
Trease graduated from Edmondson Westside High School in 1972. Trease continued her education at Baltimore City Community College where she studied clerk stenography and shorthand. She was employed with the District Court of Maryland where she worked as a court stenographer for many years. Next she moved on to work at University Hospital as a PBX Operator. She later went on to work at Sinai Hospital as a switchboard operator for over 20 years until she retired.
Trease will always be known for being the life of the party and was loved by many. Her infamous card parties were always memorable. She was dedicated to playing the Maryland Lottery, and was blessed regularly with her winnings. She definitely had the Golden Horseshoe of Luck! She also enjoyed doing word search puzzles and spending time with family and friends. As she took on the traditions passed down from her parents coming from a large family, she loved gatherings. Cooking was one of her favorite things to do. Most of all she was known for telling it like it is. You never had to wonder what she was thinking or how she felt because she would've told you without hesitation. She will be missed for the life she lived, the love and happiness she brought to others.
Trease leaves to cherish her memory: two daughters, Roslyn Cromwell Brown and Nicole Cromwell-Rolle; two sons-in-law, Randy Brown and Erik Rolle; four grandchildren, Trevon, Shannon, Taja, and Kyndal; additionally, Ahmad, Madison, Kaleb, and Mehki; two great-grandchildren, Mariah and Emery; brother, Melvin; two sisters-in-law, Carolyn and Betty; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins; very special friends, Linda, Kandi and Nisha; and her dedicated neighbor, Danita. Three brothers George, Charles and Irvin, and three sisters Marlene, Joan and Jacqueline preceded her in death.
Trease will forever hold a place in the hearts of the many loving family members and friends who shared great memories with her.
