Obituary

Patricia Jane (Mitchell) Lee, was born to the late John and Inez Mitchell on November 30, 1943 in Fair Bluff, N.C. She was affectionately loved by many.

Patricia accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior as a child and was baptized at Mitchell Sea Missionary Baptist Church in Green Sea, N.C.

Pat moved to Baltimore, Maryland in the 1950's. She continued her worshipping fellowship at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church under the Leadership of Pastor Williams and then Pastor Johnson. She later joined Southern Baptist Church under the Leadership of the late Pastor Higgs and current Pastor Donte Hickman. She sang on the choir and attended there until her health failed. She loved The Lord, The Bible and The Word. She encouraged others to Trust and Follow Jesus, especially her sons. She witnessed and talked to family, friends and other people about God's goodness and unfail- ing love while she was bed bound and even to her death.

She attended Dunbar High School, but she later received her GED.

Pat married the Love of her life, Meridith C. Lee, on May 28, 1960. From this union, three boys were born.

She held several jobs, and retired from The State of Maryland Child Support Enforcement Agency, on May 1,2015.

Patricia loved and enjoyed family outings and gatherings. She enjoyed cookouts, New York shopping trips and going down South Carolina, especially visiting Myrtle Beach and staying on the beach. Myrtle Beach was her favorite. She also enjoyed visiting her oldest arid youngest sons, daughter in law and grandchildren in Oklahoma. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy, especially Miss Jordan, who was her Gift from God born on her birthday. Then Mr. PJ came along 9 days before her birthday. God allowed her to spend 2015 birthdays, Thanksgiving and Christmas there with them. She even brought the New Year of 2016 in with them.

We can't leave out her joy for cooking. She would get in that kitchen and cook all day long and even until the next day, if she had too. Her sweet potato pies, candy yams, turkey wings and world famous banana pudding was to die for. When she sold dinners they would sell out.

When it comes to fashion, yes she was a Fashion Queen. She wore her suits, hats jewelry and shoes like she was a millionaire and wore them very well. Received compliments wherever she went. Dwayne talked about how she had a storage, that she was paying for every month with just her belongings and she didn't care what was said about them.

When she attended the Cancer Treatment Center of America in Georgia, the evening before she left to travel by airplane, she was always certain to have prayer with her niece, Cheryl. At the end ofthe prayer, she will always say," Jordan tells me that, God is your Savior, God is your Healer and He is your Deliverer, grandma". Her husband, children and niece Wanda supported her with her trips to Georgia.

Preceded her in death, three sisters Mary (Lang) Blue, Vemie Allen, and Thomasina Mitchell.

She started her Home Hospice on Sunday, July 17, 2016 and was then transferred to Gilchrist Inpatient Hospice later on in the week. The love, support, comfort and encouragement was really exhibited and felt there. The Hospice nurse asked her, "What did she expect"? She said, "To go home to be with my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ". She was talking about her Heavenly Home. She was ready.

On Saturday, July 30 at 9:45 p.m. her request was granted. She went to her Heavenly Home.

She leaves to cherish her memories and love, her devoted and loving husband, Meridith; three sons, Chauncey of Oklahoma, Dwayne of Baltimore and Patrick (Raven) of Oklahoma; two grandchildren, Jordan and Patrick Jr.(PJ); adopted son, Montez; two sisters, Leotha Haney of Tabor City, North Carolina, and Vemell Parker and two brothers, John Mitchell(Dickeyboy) and Lester Gause, two sister in laws, Gladys Hawks and Diane Mosby (Tim) and one brother in law Howard Lee, all from Richman, Virginia; special and dedicated nieces, Wanda, Cher- yl, Rosemary and Kim and great niece, Keyausha; two godsons, Jerome McFadden and Hassan Ricks; four devoted friends, Lawrence Williams, Ms. Bell, Pamela Davis and Katina Via and a host of loved nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
