IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Patricia R.
Smith
September 17, 1958 – October 31, 2018
Patricia Rene Smith was born on September 17,1958 to
the late Willette Nichols and Charles Smith. She peacefully
entered into eternal rest on October 31, 2018, after a brief
illness.
Pat, as she was affectionately known, was intelligent,
independent, and very strong-willed. She was known as the
"lawyer" for her family and friends, often giving advice and
direction for those in need.
Pat graduated from Southern High School in 1976 and
immediately started making her impact on the world. She held
several jobs: Rite Aid Pharmacy and Kmart, but ultimately
made her career at the District Court of Maryland in Baltimore
City as a court clerk. Pat strategically began working in many
positions from garnishments to personal wills. She received
numerous awards and was constantly being promoted for her
outstanding leadership and knowledge. She retired from
District Court of Maryland at the early age of 45 to begin to
pursue her other interests.
In her retirement, she worked at Coppin State University
as a computer lab monitor/aide. She loved to visit the libraries,
maintain weekly bowling leagues and visiting community
events. Pat had the uncanny ability to befriend people
everywhere she went.
Early in her life, she accepted Jesus Christ as her
personal savior with her family roots planted at Grace AME
Church in Catonsville, Maryland.
Pat loved to travel, celebrate and party in her younger
years; taking on adventures with her sister, Cheryl to exotic
locations and group travel. Pat loved her family and was
always supportive, wanted to lend a hand to anyone who
needed her vast amount of knowledge and information.
Pat was excessively neat, organized and coordinated.
She was always very punctual, arriving everywhere early. She
took pride in her home and appearance, often matching from
her head to her feet, with the eyeglasses to match. She was
creative and imaginative, and made and sold greeting cards
and jewelry.
She was an avid bowler, thrifty shopper and she loved
music. Fun loving and silly, often making jokes, added to her
lively personality. Pat loved her pick-up truck, offering her
assistance with moving and hauling.
Pat leaves to cherish her memory her siblings: Kirk
(Delores), Barlow (Shirley), Hope, Elliott Sr., Lisa, Avis, Cheryl
and Blair Sr., nieces: Tanya, Kisha and Breanna, nephews:
Barry, Gregory, Elliott Jr., Blair Jr., Shayne, Kyle and Paul Jr.,
devoted cousins, great nieces, nephews, and a host of other
relatives and friends, with a lifelong friendship with Linda
Stewart. Predeceased by her parents, two brothers, Dana and
Paul Sr., and nephews, Kenneth and Alexander.
