1940 and was prede-
ceased by her siblings Henry, Hilda, Philip, and Paul
.
She made her final
transition on January 22,2016 and has now found eternal peace.
Early on Pearl Rose knew that she wanted to be a nurse. In high school
she was an accomplished academician, becoming a member of the National
Honor Society. In
1958,
she graduated Bates Senior High School in
Annapolis, Maryland. From there she continued her academic career at
the University of Maryland, and obtained her Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
in
1962
with a
3.97
GPA
.
During this time she also became a member
of the Delta Sigma Theta, Sigma Theta Tau, and Phi Kappa Phi Sororities.
She became a senior nurse for the Baltimore City Health Department and
Staff Nurse at Anne Arundel General Hospital
.
On December 30,
1967,
she was wed to George Benjamin Ford. And
out of this union came George B. Ford Jr., her only child.
Pearl Rose enjoyed the arts. She was very fond of music, loved to sing,
and was a self-taught pianist. Pearl Rose had a big heart and loved
corresponding with friends. She was very fond of writing letters and
sending cards to let people know she was thinking of them. She also
enjoyed contributing to various humane and charitable organizations.
She is survived by her only son, George Benjamin Ford Jr. (known as
'Benji'), as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
