IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Peggy T.
Lee
February 3, 1955 – February 28, 2017
P eggy Teresa Lee, born February 3, 1955, transitioned from this earthly realm to be with the Lord on February 28,2017, after battling through 22 years of multiple health challenges. Being determined not to give up until her destiny in Christ had been fulfilled, Peggy found strength to fight to do whatever was necessary to enjoy the richest blessings of the Lord.
Peggy was the beloved daughter of James Edwin Lee and Delores Alberta Russ and was born in Baltimore, Maryland. he received her formal education through the Baltimore City Public School System, and upon graduating was employed as a health aide and a clerk for the Department of Motor Vehicles.
Determined to live life to the fullest, Peggy enjoyed fine dining, traveling and too much shopping! Those who were close to her may remember that she spoke often of how special it was just "hanging out" with her mother, whom she loved so very much.
Peggy and her sister Shirley were reared by their mother in the House of God and in the way of Holiness. Although her early years were sometimes considered as "topsy-turvy," Peggy always
returned to the Lord and the Godly upbringing that was deeply stilled within her.
Peggy was reared at the First Apostolic Faith Church under the Pastorate of the beloved Bishop Winfield Showell, and in her adult years became a member of The Haven of Rest Sanctuary of Praise under the Pastorate of Apostle Dena A. Jobes, whom ,she loved very much. On September 29,2013, Peggy was led to New Harvest Ministries and took membership under the Pastorate of Bishop Marcus A. Johnson, Sr.
During her time there, she experienced a deeper love for God and was able to appreciate a new level of love for the saints as 'ell as from them. Peggy spoke repeatedly about the anointing that dwells in the house and the love exemplified by Bishop Johnson.
Even though Peggy in her later years was wheelchair bound, she would pull herself up with the assistance of her nurse's aide as the praises went up in the sanctuary. She would stand with arms raised, crying and worshipping her Abba Father. On several occasions, Peggy was able to walk around the church as a testimony of God's keeping power, while proclaiming Him as healer and the lover of her soul.
Peggy learned that God loved her and was her Heavenly Father though her natural father was absent in her life. She held on to the fact that the Lord would never leave her nor forsake her. Peggy depended upon God to see her through the good times, the bad times and especially during those times of extreme pain, sickness and suffering.
A few months before her departure, Peggy stated that she wanted to go home to be with the Lord because of her tremendous afflictions, yet God saw fit to extend her days by His mercy. As time contillued to pass, she whispered, "Mama, I thought I wanted to die, but God was not ready for me yet" When the time of Peggy's departure fmally came, God dispatched His angels at 4:54 a.m. and so she departed. And she also arrived safely, home at last!
Peggy leaves to cherish and honor her life: her mother, Delores A. Russ; sister, Shirley Lee; nephew, Kendrick Lee; husband, Calvin Carter; cousin, Rev. William Brewer (Rebecca); and a host of relatives and friends.
